"Anand Pillai is a strategy consultant and entrepreneur currently based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He graduated from Northwestern Univeristy with a degree in Industrial Engineering & Management Science. His passion for learning drove him to seek out varied educational experiences - everything from taking Chinese language classes at Tsinghua University in Beijing to tackling quantiative coursework on risk analysis at the Kellogg School of Management in Chicago.
Anand Pillai begun his career in management consulting at Towers Perrin in Philadelphia and after 2 years was recruited to join a global pharmaceutical company in Princeton, NJ becoming their youngest manager on staff. His entrepreneurial interests eventually led him into the social enterprise field, which he dived into with his first venture that focused on energy efficient, low income real estate investments.
Outside of 'work' - Anand Pillai has an obsession with practising yoga every morning (he is not quite there yet), and hiking across Alaska in summer (a feat in the works). He has however taken ballet dance classes, and his most recent adventure took him to Bueno Aires where he did a stint in tango!"
